We thought that you fine folks in Trekdom would appreciate knowing that remastered versions of TNG on Blu-ray is now available for pre-order through Amazon . With the rave reviews of Star Trek: The Next Generation - Next Level, we're really excited about the release of season 1. Heck, get to season 3 and we'll be super excited. Not to say that we don't enjoy season 1, "The Neutral Zone" is one of our favorite TNG episodes, but we can't wait to see "Yesterday's Enterprise" remastered and in hi-def. The set will be released July 24th.
As we reported back in January, Star Trek: The Next Generation - Next Level was released on Blu-ray. The four episode sampler was the first example of TNG remastered and in high-def. We just learned that a date is being reported for the full remastered first season of Picard & his crew and we could be seeing it as early as July.
Here's something we've been anticipating since we launched Subspace Communique. That's right woodchuck chuckers, TNG has officially hit Blu-ray with the first released remastered episodes. After seeing the excellent work that was put into the TOS remasters, we hoped that CBS would go forth and make the Enterprise-D shine in all of it's 1080p glory. Well that day is finally here with the release of Star Trek: The Next Generation - Next Level [Blu-ray]. Now granted, this is a sampler disc with only 3 episodes, but it's our first chance to see what's in-store for the entire series in hi-def. Just like TOS remasterd, Mike & Denise Okuda worked closely with CBS on this project and hopefully by the year's end, we'll see the first full season release of Star Trek: The Next Generation: Remastered.
You’ve been waiting for the HD release of Star Trek: The Next Generation to come out for what seems like forever. And we’ve been waiting with you since we reported on it in August and earlier this month . We’re excited to tell you that the 3 episode (yes, it’s not touted as 4 episodes any more…they are now counting “Encounter at Farpoint” as a single episode) Blu-Ray, The Next Level, will be out on January 31, 2012. This is set includes “Encounter At Farpoint”, “Inner Light” and “Sins of the Father.” The full first season is slated to arrive in 2012, with the rest of the series to follow. Here’s the official trailer for the Blu-Ray release.
We reported last month that Star Trek: The Next Generation is heading to Blu-ray & HD sooner rather than later. It turns out that the four test episodes that are being worked on include "Encounter At Farpoint 1 & 2", "The Inner Light", & "Sins of the Father". While we were hoping for "Yesterday's Enterprise" those choices will definitely work for us. Trekcore & The Digital Bits are both reporting that the four test episodes could be released this fall and may show up on both Netflix & Epix.
