With the recent announcement of his retirement, Leonard Nimoy has been hitting the convention circuit pretty heavily. Not that we're complaining. We definitely want to see him before he buys a condo and moves to Florida. With the retirement news though, we just assumed that Vegas Khhaaan! was going to be his last show. Apparently not. It looks like the 44th annual Chi-town convention could be our Vulcan friend's last show (maybe). So, if you're looking for a chance to get a photo or autogarph with Mr. Nimoy beyond Vegas, you still have a chance.

"Retiring?" Leonard Nimoy May Return In Fringe Season 3

Leonard Nimoy's retirement may be short lived if the rumors we're hearing are true. According to a few sites around the net, William Bell may be returning to the Fox hit "Fringe" in it's 3rd season. In a video entitled "Fringe: The Next Chapter" the cast talk about the season 2 cliffhanger and what may be in-store for season 3.
In the interview Leonard jokingly had this to say about William Bell's "death".
“Do I think he’s really dead? Do I think William Bell is really dead? This is science fiction. I have died in science fiction many times and somehow magically or scientifically come back.”

"Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep" is the seventh game in the series that began back in 2002, released for the Playstation 2. Set for a September 7th, 2010 release, the new game also adds some familiar voices to the roster. One world famous Vulcan and a little know farmboy from a galaxy far, far away. That's right, Leonard Nimoy and Mark Hamil are set to star in the upcoming Playstation Portable release.

Leonard Nimoy To Speak At Hero Complex Film Festival In LA

A brand new film festival is set for June 11-13 at the Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood. Called the Hero Complex, the fest will showcase 5 different films with on-stage appearances from famous film makers including Leonard Nimoy.
The five films showcased will be presented on separate nights starting on Friday June 11th with "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home". Voyage will be followed by a Q&A session with the movie's star and director, television and film icon Leonard Nimoy.

A little more than a month ago we posted an article detailing Leonard Nimoy's plans to walk away from the convention circuit. Today, we learn that he's actually walking away from Trek altogether. That's right ladies and gents, Spock is going to retire. According to and interview with Toronto Sun Leonard is ready to "Get off the stage".

President Obama Gave Vulcan Salute To Nimoy On First Meeting

Leonard Nimoy was recently awarded the 2010 Douglas S. Morrow Public Outreach Award at the 26th National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During his acceptance speech Leonard revealed that he's a big fan of real-world spaceflight, as well as the fictionalized version.
He also expressed his feelings about the recent release of the Obama administration space policy, "I do believe that President Obama means it when he says that he is 100 percent interested in space," Nimoy told reporters. "I know for sure he's a Star Trek fan," he said, because the first time the two men met, President Obama made Spock's traditional V-shaped finger spread.

Quinto Ready To Ask Original Spock To Return & Wil Wheaton Set For Eureka

Zachary Quinto will definitely be in the next iteration of J.J. Abrams's Star Trek. Not that that's news, he does have a contract. But, new Spock admits that it may take some pleading and cajoling to get his original counterpart to sign up for part deux. Quinto tells the New York Daily News, the it took a personal plea from J.J. Abrams to bring Leonard Nimoy out of retirement for Star Trek XI.
At the IFC Film Center premiere for "Breaking Upwards" Quinto remarked "I think I might have to ask him this time".

Happy Birthday To Leonard Nimoy, May You Live Long & Prosper!

Earlier this week we celebrated the birthday of one William Shatner. Today we celebrate the other half of the dymanic duo, Mr. Leoanrd Nimoy. Possibly the most well known character in all of scifi was brought to life by Leonard in 1964, where he played Spock for the first time in the original Star Trek pilot "The Cage".
Spock has inspired and thrilled many a person over the last 46 years and Leonard Nimoy has been entertaining audiences since 1951. He's an actor, director, producer, author, award winning photographer, and the science officer of the sweetest starship that ever graced the small & silver screen.

Is This Leonard Nimoy's Last Year On The Convention Circuit?

There's been quite a bit of Leonard Nimoy news that last few days, from his adventures to Vulcan to a stop in the Emerald City. Some of the news seems a little unexpected a down right sad. According to an interview in The News Tribune, Spock is talking of calling it quits on the convention circuit this year.
