Patrick Stewart & John de Lancie At Dallas ComicCon This Weekend

This is a friendly neighborhood reminder that the freakin' captain of the Enterprise and a loveable (well, maybe not loveable) omnipotent being will be at Dallas ComicCon this weekend (May 19th & 20th). That's right kidos Sir Patrick Stewart & one John de Lancie will be gracing the stage at the Irving Convention center in the Metroplex.

Star Trek 2 Producer / Screenwriter Damon Lindelof Will Be "On The Verge" This Thursday

The wildly popular technology website The Verge will be broadcasting another episode of its talk show On The Verge this Thursday (May 17th) featuring Star Trek 2 producer / screenwriter Damon Lindelof. There's no formal announcement that Damon will be discussing Star Trek 2, but how could he not? Whether the discussion features the next installment of the J.J.-verse or that other little project that Damon co-wrote... ya know, Prometheus... it should be an interesting show.

Bye Bye Robot Launches Officially Licensed Star Trek "Enterprise Shuttle Service" Poster & Sticker Pack

Subspace Communique's sister-site Bye Bye Robot, purveyor of fine art from the future, just launched a brand new poster and sticker pack designed and illustrated by famed artist Steve Thomas. Many of you know Steve from his other illustrative work including licensed popular Star Wars and video game posters. The new artwork features the iconic shuttlecraft Galileo from TOS in die cut vinyl sticker form and a 1930's style WPA poster beckoning Federation tourists to Cestus III and calling cadets to join the Shuttle Crew Service.

Our good friends at the Geek Fights podcast have something very special to celebrate by hitting their 100th episode. They don't simply take it in stride, no! Mike, Damon, & the full cast of geek fighters lay out a battle royale of the "best of geek fights". What does this entail, you ask? Oh, I don't know, maybe awesome fights pitting Empire Strikes Back against a Bat'leth or Tyler Durden vs Kermit The Frog, just to name a couple. Trek Nation's North American Theatrical Premiere Set For San Diego ComicCon

As we reported earlier, Trek Nation made its international debut today at SCI-FI-LONDON. On top of that, we just received word that Trek Nation will be heading for its North American theatrical debut at this year's San Diego ComicCon. If that wasn't enough, the showing is completely free, doesn't require a ComicCon pass, and will be immediately followed by a Q&A session with Rod Roddenberry. Can I say it for all of us?... That's pretty freakin' cool! The event will be held at the historic Birch North Park Theatre on July 12th followed by the aforementioned Q&A session, plus a special meet-and-great at West Coast Tavern. As always Roddenberry Entertainment wants Trek fans to show their love and come dressed in full regalia. So all you Borg, Vulcans, and even Pakleds get suited-up for this special event.

Star Trek TNG's LeVar Burton Headlining A Special Event At The Bronx Zoo This June

If we know one thing about LeVar Burton, it's that he's passionate about child literacy. This June, you can catch LeVar at the Bronx Zoo as a part of its Animal Tales Extravaganza Weekends. He'll be on-hand for a special story time / meet-and-greet June 16th & 17th at 1:00 p.m on the Asia Plaza Stage . LeVar will be there to share some of his favorite stories and host a demonstration of the new Reading Rainbow iPad book discovery and reading app.

Star Trek 2 Filming At Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, This Week

We're not for posting every rumor about the upcoming J.J. Abrams Star Trek sequel, but we found this pretty darn interesting. According to MercuryNews.com (San Jose Mercury News), J.J. & Co. are filming scenes for Star Trek 2 at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (in Livermore, California) this week.
